History

B.P.C. Institute of Technology is the first technological institute established in Nadia district of West Bengal. It has been established in 17th April, 1956 on 7.70 Acre land donated by Late Bipradas Palchoudhury and assisted financially by his family. Two courses were introduced L.C.E. as a three years diploma and draftsmanship as a two years certificate course in the 1st year. The Diploma courses started on civil, electrical and mechanical from the next academic year. Draftsmanship was abolished in 1965 and post Diploma in Computer Science course was started in 1998 under World Bank Project which was later stopped and DCST was started. It was taken over by State Govt. in Sept. 1977 and received approval since then.
