K. G. Engineering Institute, now a polytechnic institute under the Government of West Bengal, is situated at the heart of Bishnupur, a sub-divisional town in the district Bankura, West Bengal. The institute has consistently striven for excellence and has been adjudged as one of the excellent polytechnics of the state. The institute offers now three years full time diploma courses in the five engineering disciplines. In addition to this, different short term non-formal courses of MHRD of Govt. of India is also being conducted for 30 years under the Community Development Through Polytechnic program and the Community College Scheme to alleviate the youths belonging to poor, socially and educationally backward classes, neo-literates, minorities and who are physically challenged.
