Rajganj Government has begun its journey from the academic year 2016-2017. Initially-as the building of Rajganj Government Polytechnic was under construction-classes were held at the premises of Jalpaiguri Polytechnic Institute. A very proud moment in the history of this Polytechnic came when its own premises had been inaugurated on 24.07.2017 by the then Honourble MOS, Department of Technical Education,Training & Skill Development Smt. Asima Patra in the presence of Principal Secretary, Director and other dignitaries from the department & district administration as well as Honourable MP Sri Bijoy Chandra Barman and Honourable MLA Sri Khageswar Roy. In the same year, our Polytechnic hosted a programme, Utkarsha Bangla, inaugurated by the Honourable MOS Smt. Asima Patra in  the presence of distinguished dignitaries. Another proud moment occurred when the Honourable MIC, Sri. Purnendu Basu visited this Polytechnic and graced the occasion of Banomahotsab on 17th July, 2018.
