The Mechanical Engineering Department at Raiganj Polytechnic was established in the year 2010 with an intake capacity of 30 students per year. Later the intake capacity has been enhanced to 60 students per year from the Academic Session 2022-23. The department has well-ventilated classrooms and laboratories and a separate workshop building at the institute. All the faculty members are well-qualified and experienced. During the course of study, the students are imparted theoretical and practical knowledge in the various aspects of Mechanical Engineering at the diploma level. They are also exposed to the industrial environment through industrial visits and internship programs. Modern teaching-learning strategies are adopted by the faculties to enhance the learning outcomes of the students. The students passing out of the department are well placed in the industries and many of them choose to pursue higher technical education bringing a good name to the institution in the region.
