Mirik Government Polytechnic is a newly established fully funded Government Engineering Institution which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and this Institute offers 3 years full time Diploma courses in Computer Science and Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Travel and Tourism, all of which are affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. Mirik Govt. Polytechnic, situated in the outer Himalayan hill and surrounded by lush greenery and tea garden all around, started its journey from the Academic Session 2021-22 with an expectation to grow and excel in the field of Engineering and Technology.
The improvement in quality of life depends on the quality of human resource development for which the technical education plays an important role. In order to keep pace with need of social and technological development, Govt. of West Bengal tirelessly strives to establish numerous Polytechnic Colleges across the state with the introduction of emerging branches in engineering education.
