Behala Government Polytechnic is one of the new government polytechnics under the aegis of Department of Technical Education, Training and Skill Development. It is a dream project of Government of West Bengal and a new Government polytechnic in the city of Kolkata after a long time in the new regime from 2011. The land requirement for establishment of Behala Government Polytechnic was fulfilled some time back and construction of academic and administrative building was aimed to run the polytechnic as a centre of excellence in the State. It is a flagship project offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities with the vision to make Bengal a future hub of technically equipped personnel who will take part in the growth of the State as well as the Nation.

Behala Government Polytechnic has developed with state of the art infrastructure with the aim of promoting the emerging technologies and develop a centre of excellence in the area of technology and allied fields.
